Common questions

I bought a pack and it is not showing up

Open the shop in the app and tap Restore purchases at the bottom. That asks the App Store or Google Play what this account has bought and unlocks it again.

Purchases belong to the store account that paid, so make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with. If it still does not appear, email us with the date of purchase and we will help.

How do I cancel Party Plus?

Party Plus is a subscription billed by the store, so you cancel it there rather than in the app.

iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Dealt Party → Cancel Subscription. Or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

Android: open Google Play → tap your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Dealt Party → Cancel subscription.

Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep the packs until the period you have paid for runs out. Cancel during the seven free days and you are charged nothing.

Why was I not given a free week on both plans?

Apple allows one introductory offer per subscription group per account, so the free week applies to whichever plan you start on — weekly or yearly — and comes once, not once each. Every screen that sells Party Plus says so in the small print.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, not by us — we have no way to issue one.

Apple: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in and pick the purchase.

Google: go to your Google Play order history and request a refund, or contact Google Play support.

If a store turns you down and you think something has genuinely gone wrong, email us and we will do what we can.

Party mode: the code will not work

Codes are four characters and contain no vowels, so a code never spells a word. Check for a letter that looks like a number — there is no O, only a zero.

A room also stops accepting new phones once twelve are in it, and rooms disappear twelve hours after the last person touches them. If the host has closed the app for a long while, start a fresh party.

Party mode: someone's phone has dropped out

A phone that has not checked in for 45 seconds is marked as away, and the game carries on without it. It rejoins by itself when the connection comes back.

If the host's phone is the one that has gone, anyone else can take over as host after 45 seconds — the option appears on their screen.

Headcase is reading my tilts the wrong way round

Headcase draws itself sideways while the phone stays upright, so hold it landscape against your forehead, screen facing the table. Tilt down for got it, up to pass — or tap the right and left of the word, which does the same.

In a browser, the phone has to be given permission to read motion. Safari asks the first time you tap Go; if you said no, reload the page and allow it. On a laptop or a tablet lying flat there is nothing to tilt, so use the taps.

How do I stop the rude cards coming up?

Open any game, tap the row at the top of its table and set Who's at the table to Family. That deals clean cards only, in every game, and hides every adult edition. It stays set until you change it.

A card is wrong, broken or offensive

Tell us. Email the game, the edition and roughly what the card said, and we will fix or remove it in the next update. We would rather hear about it than leave it in.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app and everything it kept goes with it — players, your own decks, settings and the record of which cards have been dealt. In a browser, clear site data for the app.

Party-mode rooms delete themselves twelve hours after the last person touches them. If you want one gone sooner, email us the four-character code. There is no account to close, because there was never one to make.

Do I need an internet connection?

Not for the games round one phone — they work entirely offline. Party mode needs a connection, because every phone is being dealt the same game by a server. Buying a pack needs one too.

Can I write my own cards?

Yes. On any game's table, tap New deck under the editions and write your own cards; it plays like that game, with your cards instead. Ten cards free per deck, unlimited with Party Plus.
